Emma Stone and Jonah Hill starred in the coming-of-age comedy film Superbad eleven years ago. Yes, it's been that long already. Each actor delivered standout performances that helped propel their careers to astronomical heights. Afterward, both Hill and Stone ventured out of comedy to feature in more serious films, although the former never stepped too far away from his comedic roots. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hill and Stone are reuniting for another comedic adventure.
The talented movie stars are set to star alongside each other in a Netflix series entitled Maniac. The series is based on a 2014 Norwegian series of the same name by Hakon Bast Mossige and Espen PA Lervaag, and will premier with ten episodes later this year. Cary Fukunaga, who directed HBO's True Detective and Beasts of No Nation, is helming the project and Patrick Somerville wrote the script. The plot is based around two patients of a pharmaceutical experiment that goes wrong, and it will be a dark comedy. Sonoya Mizuno, Justin Theroux, Sally Field, Julia Garner, and Jemima Kirke co-star in the series. A first look at Maniac was revealed by Netflix at a promotional event in Rome this week.
