Netflix is easily one of the biggest streaming services on the planet right now. A monthly subscription gets you access to seemingly endless movies and T.V. shows that get recycled every month to bring you fresh and new content. Aside from classics, Netflix has made bank by introducing their own original content. Programs such as Strangers Things, Bright, Orange is the New Black, Narcos, Master of None and more are all helmed by Netflix itself.
If you've only watched a few of the latter, then you're about to have a lot more to add to your 'must watch' list since Netflix's Chief Content Officer, Ted Sarandos, said the platform will have 1,000 originals streaming by the end of the year.
“The creators we’re talking to, they watch Netflix and they want to be on our network,” Ted said, Via NY Post. “It’s a great time to be a producer, that’s for sure.” Adding: “The way we can secure those shows is having a great reputation with talent, having a brand people want to be associated with, and a good track record of delivering.”
Ted didn't reveal much while speaking at the MoffettNathanson Media & Communications Summit 2018 in New York, but we do know that the platform is not moving towards live sports or news.
