The positive reception from "Bandersnatch" prompts Netflix to move forward with more interactive series.

While fans waited for a new season of Black Mirror, the creators blessed us with Bandersnatch over the holidays. The interactive standalone film in the Black Mirror world that introduced a new type of technology to Netflix. With the success of the film, Netflix plans on "doubling down" on more interactive series.

Netflix VP of product, Todd Yellin, delivered a keynote presentation at the 20th edition of media and entertainment conference FICCI-Frames in Mumbai this week where he revealed the streaming giants' plan to move forward with more interactive series.

“It’s a huge hit here in India, it’s a huge hit around the world, and we realized, wow, interactive storytelling is something we want to bet more on,” Yellin said. “We’re doubling down on that. So expect over the next year or two to see more interactive storytelling. And it won’t necessarily be science fiction, or it won’t necessarily be dark. It could be a wacky comedy. It could be a romance, where the audience gets to choose – should she go out with him or him.”

Yellin also revealed plans to increase Indian content on Netflix, citing the success of Sacred Games, a Netflix original series about a cop who's chasing down a gang boss. Additionally, Yellin said the number of languages for Netflix content will increase from 25 to 30.
