Nav's new album Reckless shares the Friday spotlight with Lil Baby and Lil B for top honors on the day. Luckily you don't have to choose a favorite of the three, since they all communicate different aspects of the culture. "Faith" with Quavo is one of three songs on the album to feature a second voice. Nav's music has been described to me as entering the Matrix with one arm tied behind the back. "Faith" like his previous works, puts emphasis on creating atmosphere. Nav's arrangement of "Faith" allows breathing space (or caesuras) to break up the extended parts. The effect it has, is equivalent to eating a full bag of chips on an half-empty stomach. There's room for improvement but you're happy all the same.
Evidently, when Quavo references the North Side, he isn't paying homage to Canadian. Pandering to the crowd, is something he only does between sets, if and when the hype job calls in sick. Reckless also features appearances by Travis Scott, Lil Uzi Vert, and Gunna. Tell us what you think of "Faith" in the comment section down below.
Quotable Lyrics:
Last year they didn't fuck with me, but now they know my name
Girl I got what you want, I got whatever you need
I'm pissin' out these pills, and I'm cryin' codeine
The shit I used to buy though, I be gettin' for free
