Famed musician Moby recently dropped off his autobiography Then It Fell Apart that details a time where he claimed that he dated Natalie Portman, or as he put it, "tried to be her boyfriend." He claimed that he was 33 and Natalie was 20, but in a recent interview with the Black Swan actress, that wasn't the case, at all.
"I was surprised to hear that he characterized the very short time that I knew him as dating because my recollection is a much older man being creepy with me when I just had graduated high school," Natalie told Harpar's Bazaar UK, detailing how she "had just turned 18" at the time, not 20. "That he used this story to sell his book was very disturbing to me," she said. "It wasn't the case. There are many factual errors and inventions. I would have liked him or his publisher to reach out to fact check," she added.
Natalie eventually ended her friendship with Moby due to his "inappropriate" interest in her.
Moby has since followed up on Natalie's statements, sticking to his word that they did in fact date. "I like Natalie, and I respect her intelligence and activism. But, to be honest, I can’t figure out why she would actively misrepresent the truth about our(albeit brief)involvement. The story as laid out in my book Then It Fell Apart is accurate, with lots of corroborating photo evidence, etc," he wrote on Instagram - check it out below.
