This is the second time the show has been canned.

MTV's Total Request Live will no longer be a reoccurring series on the network after only coming back on the air in October. TMZ reports that employees received an email of the cancellation, saying the show will not be returning on April 9th after its February hiatus. The afternoon show will now "pivot to short form content that will be featured on social and digital platforms."

When the show came back on air back in the Fall it was big news as TRL was once a popular show ten years ago. The series first aired on September 14th, 1998, and the final episode aired on November 16th, 2008. Carson Daly was the known host when it was popular back in the day and the series had some memorable moments such as seeing Diddy run on a treadmill during his whole visit, Mariah Carey who surprised everyone with ice cream, Michael Jackson who showed up in 2001 wearing pajamas and much more.

Although the reboot had some great guests such as Nipsey Hussle, Remy Ma, A$AP Ferg, DJ Premier, Lil Xan and more, it seems as though the reboot couldn't stick with fans enough to keep on airing. Times are changing and cable TV just isn't as hot as these streaming platforms.
