The vast majority of us were introduced to Miss Mulatto when the young emcee made her debut on the first season of Jermaine Dupri's Rap Game reality competition show. Eventually, Mulatto would be crowned that year's victor, ushering a new chapter of notoriety for her budding career.
Now three years later, the Atlanta native is ready to roll out another era, brushing off preconceptions that come with the label of being a child star, and she manages to do it all in the span of six tracks with the arrival of her latest Time and Pressure EP.
This effort doubles as something of a warning shot as Latto details snipping all loose ends declaring, "They all ended up fraud / Can't no one stop me but God," on the opening selection "Facts." With only two features from rapper C. White and frequent collaborator Bandit Gang Marco in tow, the rising star's message shines through uninterrupted and certainly deserves more than a few listens.
"I’m letting people know I’m not that same girl," she revealed in a recent interview. "As an artist I’ve grown all around. Every day is a level up for me and I’m excited to show that through my project."
