A Minneapolis man has been declared dead after a police officer pinned him to the ground and forcefully placed his knee on his neck, cutting off his airway before he passed out.
As reported by CBS News, police officers responded to a "forgery in process" when they noticed the suspect sitting in a car. According to the Police Department, the man resisted arrest and was placed in handcuffs, adding that he appeared to be in medical distress.
A video has made its way to the internet, showing the arrest taking place, and it's truly disturbing to watch.
The man, who is African-American, was pinned down to the ground with an officer putting his knee over his neck and cutting off his airway, accusing him of being under the influence.
"I cannot breathe! I cannot breathe," yelled the man helplessly. "Don’t kill me!"
The unnamed man, who is believed to be in his 40s, was later pronounced dead as a result of a "medical incident."
State authorities and the FBI are currently investigating his death.
"When I walked up, he was already on the ground," said witness Darnella Frazier. "The cops, they was pinning him down by his neck and he was crying. They wasn’t trying to take him serious."
