Mike WiLL Made It had a lengthy interview with The Breakfast Club as he begins the rounds promoting his new album Est. in 1989 Pt. 3. The producer dropped off a new single to follow up the somewhat lacklustre "23", "Buy The World", which is getting a much better reception from hip-hop fans, and as Mike WiLL explains in the interview, that was the point. He refers to "Buy The World" as some "hood Phil Collins shit."
After discussing how the collaboration with Lil Wayne, Kendrick Lamar and Future was put together piece-by-piece, the ATLien goes on to talk about other projects he's been working on lately, including more collaborations with Lil Wayne for his highly anticipated Carter V album.
Mike WiLL reveals that he's done three records for Weezy F's Carter V. "I got three records with Lil Wayne for the Carter V. Wayne's on one right now, he's ripping eveything."
"Nicki Minaj too," he added, referring to a joint he did on her upcoming LP The Pinkprint.
There's one more Young Money rapper the Breakfast team asked about, and of course it was Drizzy. "I send him beats and stuff all the time, but I haven't really been in working with him like that," Mike WiLL said of Drake.
Finally, the Power 105.1 crew asked about any potential Kendrick Lamar collabs on the Compton MC's sophomore album. To that Mike WiLL said, "Me and Kendrick working. I dunno how he's gunna put it together, but we always working. A lot of people don't know this, but me and Kendrick real close."
