It has been 16 years since Austin Powers in Goldmember was given a theatrical release. Since 2005, studio executives have been pondering a potential fourth instalment into the comedic franchise, but no script has been finalized. However, that has not stopped the film's beloved protagonist Mike Myers from entertaining the prospect of a film focusing on Dr. Evil from being made.
Opening up to reporters attending the premiere of his latest film Terminal, Myers admits how he "would love to do a movie from Dr. Evil's perspective. So it would be Dr. Evil 1, Austin Powers 4. Start the campaign please, thank you."
Terminal stars Myers alongside I, Tonya's Margot Robbie, and follows two hitmen who become involved in a heist that goes awry once they encounter a criminal mastermind hellbent on revenge. The comedian will play the role of an enigmatic janitor.
Myers recalls a time when Robbie challenged him to a drinking game in a park, with the Aussie beauty having beat the actor with ease. "She wiped the floor with us," he admits. "There I was representing Canada and, well, you know. Australia 1, Canada 0."
