Former NBA star Mike Bibby is reportedly being investigated in Arizona, after a high school teacher accused him of sexual abuse and harassment stemming from an incident in 2017.
According to reports, the woman claims Bibby grabbed her by the waist and pulled her into his car, and then "proceeded to grind up on her," while on school grounds at Shadow Mountain High School, where Bibby is the head basketball coach.
AZ Central reports that Phoenix Municipal Court granted the teacher a restraining order on February 22. Bibby, 40, is now is being investigated by the Phoenix Police Department, as well as the Paradise Valley School District. His attorney, Donald Harris, denied the claims.
"I can say with pretty much certainty this alleged incident didn't happen and that will be shown down the road," he said. "Michael Bibby did not participate in a sexual assault of any way, shape or form that was alleged by this lady two years ago."
Bibby attended Shadow Mountain high school as a kid before enrolling at Arizona, where he led the Wildcats to a National Championship in 1997.
On Saturday, he led the varsity boys' basketball team to its fourth straight state championship. During his six years at Shadow Mountain, the team has won five state titles, according to AZ Central.
