"It's not a little shoe store down in Downtown in L.A. It's big business."

The Los Angeles Lakers organization was stunned earlier this week when Magic Johnson unexpectedly stepped down as President of Basketball Operations prior to the team's regular season finale.

Since then, analysts and reporters across the country have tried to make sense of it all, wondering where the Lakers go from here. Of course, that also includes the always opinionated LaVar Ball, who recently told FS1, "The system is crumbling down. I don't know what's going on over there."

In case you were wondering, here's Michael Rapaport's take on the matter:

"Here's the point about the Lakers," Rapaport said (H/T TMZ Sports) ... "Jeanie Buss, everybody loves you. I love you. I've met you, you've been nothing but nice to me. Stop running the Lakers like it's a mom and pop donut shop."

"It's not a little shoe store down in Downtown in L.A. It's big business. You gotta hire a killer. You gotta hire some kick ass people."

"Jeanie Buss, it's not a family business. It's a basketball team. Get some killers in there!"

According to a report by ESPN's Ramona Shelburne, Lakers' general manager Rob Pelinka will stay in his role, and could even see his power grow in the aftermath of Magic's announcement.

The Lakers finished the year 37-45, which ranks 11th worst in the NBA this season. They have a 2% chance of landing Zion Williamson in the NBA Draft and a 9.4% chance of climbing into the top 4.
