Michael Jackson Fans Attack Oprah On Twitter Over "Leaving Neverland" Interview

HBO's Leaving Neverland documentary about Michael Jackson's alleged history of sexual abuse has sparked controversy. The allegations aren't new in any way but this is the first time they're being explored heavily since his death in 2009. Fans have been enraged that people are trying to crucify MJ after his death when he can't defend himself. Oprah's interview with the two accusers in the film, Wade Robson and James Safechuck, will air after part two of Leaving Neverland. However, she's received a ton of hate from MJ fans for giving the alleged victims a platform.

Oprah shared two clips of her interview with Robson and Safechuck, two accusers who've previously testified that MJ never molested them. In the clip, the issue is bigger than just Michael Jackson but the larger issue of sexual abuse. However, a few fans pointed out her relationship with Harvey Weinstein who was accused of sexual misconduct by dozens of women. Oprah herself was accused of knowing about the allegations but she's denied that she did.

In a clip she released of the interview, she asks the accusers why they continued to associate themselves with Michael Jackson even though they accused the singer of sexual abuse. Although the hard-hitting questions show some sort of objectivity of Oprah's part, many still believe she's still trying to drag Michael Jackson's name.
