Dolphins trade their starting running back for a 4th round pick.

The Miami Dolphins have agreed to trade running back Jay Ajayi to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for a fourth round pick, according to ESPN. Ajayi has rushed for just 465 yards in seven games for the Dolphins this season, but will now get to play behind a much better offensive line in Philly.

The 24-year old running back is coming off a stellar 2016 season where he racked up 1,200 yards with eight touchdowns, although he has yet to find the endzone this season. LeGarrette Blount has received the majority of carries in the Eagles' backfield through eight weeks, rushing for 467 yards and two touchdowns on 100 attempts.

The Eagles, 7-1, will host the Denver Broncos in Week 9 this Sunday.

In addition to trading Jay Ajayi, rumors are swirling that the Dolphins are also interested in moving wide receiver Jarvis Landry, for the right price. The Dolphins are 4-3 on the season so far and head coach Adam Gase has publicly blasted his team, so don't be surprised if the Dolphins move more pieces before today's trade deadline.

The NFL Trade deadline is today at 4pm ET, and according to that tweet from ESPN's Adam Schefter, we haven't seen the last trade of the day.

Late last night, the New England Patriots agreed to trade their highly coveted backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo to the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for a 2018 second round pick.

The Seattle Seahawks were also active last night, acquiring Pro Bowl left tackle Duane Brown in a trade with the Houston Texans. Seattle sent cornerback Jeremy Lane to Houston along with a 2018 fifth-round pick and a 2019 second-round pick as part of the deal, according to ESPN.
