Lil Wayne's long-awaited album Tha Carter V will finally be released this week. The rapper confirmed its release yesterday while acknowledging the false release date that circulated last week. A tracklist for the project has been surfacing over the past week but Wayne nor anyone from his team has confirmed its validity. However, it looks like Metro Boomin might make an appearance on the project.
Metro Boomin took to his Instagram Story recently to tease a possible appearance on Lil Wayne's Tha Carter V. The producer simply shared an emoji of a hand with a red V on it, resembling the project's actual cover art. Although it might be a reach, it would appear as if he might make an appearance on the project. Either that, or he's just as excited for CV as the rest of us.
It's been a relatively quiet year for Metro Boomin, at least in comparison to previous years. Earlier this year, the rapper revealed that he was "retired" when he decided to clear out his entire Instagram page, which still doesn't have any photos. This prompted Gucci Mane to offer Metro $1M to come out retirement for the day.
Although we haven't heard much from Metro, it looks like he may have been plotting away. Offset, who collaborated with the producer alongside 21 Savage for Without Warning, teased that Metro might be coming out of retirement sooner than we think. If the speculation are true, then maybe we'll hear some new Metro production in a few days.
