It was a monster week for female rap as the top two spots on the Billboard Hot 100 are currently occupied by a couple of rising superstars in Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion. After it was reported that Meg and Doja were battling for the #1 position on the chart, the "Say So" songstress inched out the competition and secured her first-ever #1 single. She also made history as this is the first time a duo of female rappers stands tall at the pole position.
Megan Thee Stallion is proud of all of her fans for streaming her "Savage" remix so hard after Beyoncé hopped on the remix. She seemingly is not sweating her #2 position on the chart either. After all, that's still the highest she's ever been so why would she complain?
"HOTTIES WE JUST HIT NUMBER 2 ON THE HOT 100," excitedly exclaimed Megan in the caption to her new post. "We’ve come so far. I promise to keep working hard and getting better everytime ! Thank y’all for growing with me. look at all this girl power!"
While we're sure Megan was hoping for the #1 spot herself, she's being a good sport about her fellow femcee claiming it this week. There's always next week!
Do you think Megan Thee Stallion will end up hitting #1 in the near future with "Savage?"
