Hitting theaters later today (September 8), True To The Game is a new movie that will follow the love story of millionaire drug dealer, Quadir (Columbus Short) and Gena (Erica Peeples) a young woman from Philly trying to pursue her dreams. The film, which will star Vivica A. Fox, Draya Michele, Andra Fuller, & more was adapted from a book by the same name by best-selling author and self-publishing pioneer Teri Woods, but that’s not where we're going here.
Coinciding with its release today is a new star-studded soundtrack featuring a slew of hip-hop artists including Cardi B, Meek Mill, Migos, 21 Savage, Nipsey Hussle, Lil Uzi Vert, Jeremih, Keyshia Cole, K. Michelle and more all contributing to the album with all new original music.
One of the records that has already surfaced online tonight was the Meek Mill contribution “Team Rich,” which follows his latest feature on Young Thug & DJ Carnage’s new single “Homie.”
Staying right in his lane , Meek hops on this thumping production and delivers an aggressive street cut that finds him rapping about “getting the whole team rich,” just as the title depicts. Take a listen and let us know what you think. (Record available on iTunes)
If you wish to catch Meek Mill live in person you're in luck, the MMG rapper is about to hit the road this Fall for his "Wins & Losses" Tour, which is in support of his latest album. Peep tour dates here if interested.
Sidenote: there's still more Meek Mill where this comes from. Just the other day we was heard being featured in an upcoming song from Timbaland and Jay Z. In case you missed it, check that out right here and stay tuned, more from the MMG rapper is on the way.
Quotable Lyrics
I'm 'bout to go to Atlanta 'fore I go banana
Payin' these lawyer fees, coppers follow me, watch me, recordin' me
Pussy niggas, they said, they extortin' me
Put a price on my head, try to order me
