Meek Mill has only been out of prison for a few days, but it appears that he may be having a hard time adjusting to freedom.
Meek's release was universally celebrated among the hip-hop community, as his case had come to act as a high-profile example of corruption in the legal system, and his fans are eagerly anticipating whatever new project Meek will be putting out now that he's been freed.
However, a stay in prison can be incredibly taxing on an individual. The state of mind required to survive in that kind of environment can leave ex-prisoners confused after they get out. It's a very difficult process to break from, and many eventually return to the behavior that put them behind bars in the first place. This morning, Meek took to Instagram to share a bit of his life, post-prison.
The post shows Meek sitting court side at the recent 76ers game, and in the caption he writes, "I ain’t sleep since I walked out that prison real rap I’m tweaking 🌝🤷🏾♂️."
This isn't the first time Meek has alluded to his issues with insomnia since his release. In an interview with NBC's Lester Holt yesterday, Meek told Holt that, "I haven't slept one second since getting out of prison. It’s actually a culture shock coming from a small cell back into the real world so I think my body has to adjust."
Hopefully Meek feels better soon so that he can continue to enjoy his life as a free man. At the very least, he has a lot of friends who can help him out.
