Meek Mill's set to be the focus of an upcoming Amazon docuseries titled, Free Meek but he also has some other projects in the works where he'll be working from behind the scenes.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Meek Mill and JAY Z's Roc Nation have partnered with sports streaming service DAZN to produce a docuseries on heavyweight boxers, Anthony Joshua and Andy Ruiz. The docuseries, 40 Days: Joshua-Ruiz, will launch as short episodes which will premiere on May 21st on Meek's IG and YouTube page. Episodes will arrive every Tuesday and Thursday over the past weeks leading up to the June 1st fight. The final part of the series will premiere on NBC Sports Network and other sports network ahead of the fight.
“DAZN has created a program that explores a fighter's heart and soul,” said Mill in a statement. “They tell the story of what makes a true champion. I love being part of a project that tells of their grit, sacrifices, and dedication outside the gym. It’s those things that show true character and should be lauded just as much as the knockouts in the ring.”
Executive VP on content, Jamie Horowitz, added, “It’s a series which is meant to let creative people be creative. We are excited to have Meek Mill tell the story of Anthony Joshua’s first fight in America through his unique lens.”
