Mariah Carey is readying herself for a redemption performance at Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest this year despite her much talked about failed attempt at it last year.
If you guys can remember, Mariah's performance to ring in 2017 was hard to watch since she stopped singing multiple times as she complained about the technical difficulties. She also limped throughout her choreography and later blamed Dick Clark Productions for her tragic performance - saying her earpieces weren't working - and reportedly fired her creative director. Dick and his production team fired back at any allegations alluding to his team messing up, saying she didn't practice enough.
Despite the mix-up, Mariah and Dick released a statement to the Associated Press confirming that they are coming together again for round two.
“We can all agree that last year didn’t go exactly as planned and we are thrilled to move forward together to provide America with an incredible night of music and celebration on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2018,” their joint statement said. “See you in Times Square!”
Other artists set to perform are Camila Cabello, Nick Jonas and Sugarland. Only time will tell if Mariah can redeem herself. Watch last year's performance below.
