The first-week sales projections for Logic's Bobby Tarantino II and Lil Yachty's Lil Boat 2 have arrived. According to Hits Daily Double, Logic is expected to top next week's Billboard 200 with 110,000 to 125,000 album equivalent units, 27,000 to 32,000 of the figure being made up of pure sales. Meanwhile, Yachty's projections are 60,000 to 70,000, with 8,000 to 10,000 in pure sales.
In January, Lil Yachty said he was "devastated" by the first week sales of his debut album Teenage Emotions after it moved 46,000 units in 2017. "When I first released my Teenage Emotions album I thought that shit was fire, as you should! Then the sales came back and it did 44,000 first week and I was devastated and so confused, I worked so hard," he said, speaking to Interview magazine. "But I disconnected with my fans because I tried to do this other stuff, you know?" If all goes according to play, Yachty will be doing bigger numbers with Lil Boat 2, which in some ways is a return to the core sound that first got him attention.
As for Logic, his 2017 album Everybody moved 247,000 equivalent album units in its first week. It was the first time he reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Bobby Tarantino II, which is being marketed as a mixtape rather than a studio album, will be his second No. 1 album if it lives up to early projections.
