Lizzo just joined the cast of Hustlers, a film about the exploits of a crew of exotic dancers. She is following in the footsteps of Cardi B and Jennifer Lopez who have already joined the ensemble cast, as per Variety. The film is based on the true story of a group of sex workers who join together in a revenge plot against their Fortune 500 clients. Constance Wu, Lili Reinhart, Keke Palmer, Julia Stiles, Mercedes Ruehl, Trace Lysette, Mette Towley and Madeline Brewer make up the remainder of the pit crew.

Lizzo's casting falls in line with her sex-positive advocacy, and more specifically, a motion to subvert the body images that plague contemporary American society (on a cultural basis). Lizzo routinely performs her musical repertoire is nothing more than a birthday suit, and at best (in terms of coverage) the spandex outfits popularized during the 80s aerobic's craze. Lizzo's music is also very rooted in the 80s, if not completely revivalist in spirit.
Lizzo's 3rd studio project debuted last week to a decent reception. Much of the output was teased throughout the bottom half of 2018, save for a Gucci Mane feature she kept secret until the final deadline. Although she came out strong on her first two projects, Lizzobangers in 2013 and Big Grrrl Small World in 2015, much of the renewed interest in her craft/persona was sparked by the success of her 2018 hit "Juice," oh... and of course the viral moment she enjoyed playing the flute onstage in one of her signature skimpy outfits.
