City Girls has one Gold certified track and it's their Cardi B assisted tune "Twerk." If they were to ever get another RIAA recognized song, it would (by no surprise) be their hit "Act Up." The City Girls anthem brought on a whole challenge that saw fans videotaping their crew acting up to the song and now we finally know who penned the hit.

Lil Yachty was the latest guest on Kerwin Frost Talks where he opened up about all kinds of things surrounding his career and music and shared information on how he wrote "Act Up."

“When it came out, people was so shocked and they didn’t believe it,” Yachty said about the song. “I wrote the whole song except for J.T.'s last verse, but everything that everyone is singing and all, I wrote the whole thing."

The song comes off the album Girl Code and EarlThePearll and Jatavia “J.T.” Johnson are also listed as writers.

“I just thought like them," he explained. "I know them personally and I know what women like to hear. I was like, ‘What’s some raunchy shit?’ So before I went in the booth, I said, ‘No homo y'all.’ Because all my boys was in the room. And I started saying just crazy shit. But I came out and I was like, ‘Y'all watch, this is about to blow up.’”
