During his time on Earth, Mac Miller changed a lot of people's lives. Since his passing, many have spoken out about the impact he's had on their careers. Surprisingly, Lil Xan has likely been the most outspoken member of the music community to comment on Mac's death. The controversial artist said that he was retiring from music as a direct result of his idol's death only to turn around and dedicate his next album to the late icon. Be Safe will be Xan's next album and the cover art features a drawing of Mac Miller. "Be Safe" were some of the last words that Mac ever told Diego and he's been emotional about it ever since.
With his new project out in a few weeks, Xan is sharing a fresh song with his frequent collaborator $teven Cannon. Using an image of Mac Miller as his single cover, lyrics include "I was off them pills too/ Maybe I'ma die too/ Hope I just don't die soon." Considering this is meant to be a tribute track, the lines mentioned may be taken differently from how Xan meant them. The title plays on one of the Mac's most famous mixtapes, Best Day Ever.
Be Safe is expected to release on December 3. Listen to 'Worst Day Ever" here.
Quotable Lyrics:
Hell yeah, I grew up and screw up
Shit go around like a Hula
Lost in a trap like Bermuda
I smoke my dope to this music
Think I'm seein' illusions
These people think I might lose it
Back on the Xan's and I'm coolin'
Off with their head, throw up deuces
