The hype is definitely there for Lil Wayne's upcoming album, Tha Carter V. The project was expected to release last night but, as you are well aware at this point, it did not. We've been waiting for this album for years and even though it's still not here, we can stand to stay patient for a few extra days or weeks before it eventually arrives. A date was never officially announced from Wayne and the rumors were built off of pure speculation. While there is something brewing at the moment, we'll have to keep posted until an official sign comes along. It may be inching nearer though as producer duo Cool & Dre have seemingly confirmed the legitimacy of the tracklist that's being tossed around.
Part of us believes that this is the album we'll be receiving and another part thinks this is older. Weezy has likely gotten back in the studio to make some updates so this may not still be accurate but Cool & Dre seem to believe this is the real deal. The pair posted an image of the album's tracklist to their official Instagram page, before deleting it just minutes ago. They confirmed to be the producers on a solo Wayne track titled "Scottie Pippen" and hyped up the upcoming album.
If they're correct in this matter, the album will include appearances by Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Weezy's daughter Reginae Carter, 2 Chainz, Big Sean, and Mannie Fresh. It's worth mentioning that two songs were previously previewed by Martin Shkreli, who famously owned the album after finding it in a car. Both "Mona Lisa" and "Life of Mr. Carter" have been heard in snippet form. Check out the potential back cover below and let us know which track you're most excited for.
