It looks like the on-going legal battle between Lil Wayne & Birdman just took an interesting turn of events today. Weezy is claiming Birdman & Universal Music Group were in cahoots with one another to screw him out of millions of dollars TMZ has learned.
Wayne's lawyer, Howard King, filed documents saying Birdman and Universal backdated a deal to make it look like it was signed before Young Money's deal ran out. In the docs TMZ obtained, Wayne's camp says Universal knew that backdating the deals would screw Lil Wayne out of profits from Young Money and the artists signed under his label, ie. Drake & Nicki Minaj.
If you remember, Wayne sued Universal last year claiming UMG advanced Cash Money $100 million but he never got his cut. However as this reports states, Wayne thinks Birdman and Universal were working together to squeeze him out of his royalties.
This reports coincidentally surfaces just hours after Tunechi released a new 4-track EP for fans simply called In Tune We Trust, which finds him remixing Playboi Carti's hit single "Magnolia." Check that out right here & we''ll continue to keep you updated on the Weezy x Birdman saga moving forward.
