These days, Lil Uzi Vert seems increasingly frustrated with his current label situation, taking to Twitter to voice his displeasure. After recently warning aspiring artists not to "sign with rappers" (which prompted an irate response from Uzi's label boss DJ Drama), Lil Uzi recently discoursed with a fan who pretty much accused the rapper of selling out. In case you're unaware, 2017 was a big year for Uzi, with both "XO Tour Life" and Migos' "Bad & Boujee" sliding into the Billboard Top 10 charts.
"I heard your old stuff and man you sold out," wrote the Twitter user in question, "You used to have a flow bruh its all love tho." Interestingly enough, Lil Uzi actually responded, seeming to agree with the fan's perspective. "I know exactly what u mean I had 2 chart buddy you see how the worst songs be the hits and the best songs stay lowkey underground," replied Uzi. I’m back on my raw talent fuck charting...is that cool?"
It seems like Uzi is looking to reinvent himself to an extent, although it's unclear what this might mean for his upcoming musical direction. It's interesting to see him think of "XO Tour Life" as one of his "worst songs" though; it was kind of a banger. Still, Uzi used to be more focused on the bars, believe it or not. A look back to one of his older 2013 videos reveals a different side of the rapper - perhaps one that's about to make a comeback.
