"XO Tour Llif3" has had itself a great run this year. After dropping it in March, it's blown up and inevitably played a role in Lil Uzi Vert's position in hip hop and pop culture right now. As the momentum has carried on past the summer, it makes sense that he drops the new video for the lead single off of Luv Is Rage 2.
Since the song released, it's been easier to believe Lil Uzi's preference of being labelled as a rockstar and the video for "XO Tour Llif3" is a testament to that. Directed by Off-White's Virgil Abloh, the video has the aesthetic of horror films with a gothic influence. It's almost like an homage to Marilyn Manson's earlier work.
The "XO Tour Llif3" video has a woman lying dead and bloody in a bathtub before cutting to Uzi in the same position. He spends the majority of the video covered in blood, looking into the camera with some demonic eyes going on. It's pretty creepy.
While this video is probably not something you should watch at night by yourself, at least if you're afraid of the dark, he grabs his XO homies for a few cameos to brighten the mood up a little. The Weeknd is seen in a large chunk of the video as a focal point before cutting back to a bloody Lil Uzi. He also gets some cameos from Nav & Derek Wise, among other members of the XO clique.
"XO Tour Llif3" is fresh off of winning "Song of the Summer" at the VMA's last year so it seems that Lil Uzi was definitely looking to closing out the summer with a bang.
Regardless of the fact that he's already released two videos to accompany the song, the new video he's released stands on par with how epic the song and captures Lil Uzi at some of his finest.
