UPDATE: The exchange continued, as Reese responded with a since-deleted tweet, prompting Uzi to once again wish him a good year.
When it comes to Twitter, Lil Uzi Vert has been on a tear these past few days. A few days back, the Luv Is Rage 2 rapper went on a veritable Twitter rampage, warning aspiring artists against signing with rappers or DJs; his comments led many to the conclusion that he was going at DJ Drama, as Uzi is currently signed to Drama's Generation Now label. Drama even weighed in, prompting Uzi to inquire whether or not he had a "guilty conscience." For more on that story, check the link below for our report.
Last night, however, found Lil Uzi embracing the love. The young rapper tweeted out "I love everybody I’m living my best life 2018 all my opps .... and anybody that hates me I really love you and if you wanna work just call." The sudden burst of optimism prompted longtime rival Reese Laflare to weigh in, taking a seemingly light shot at Uzi.
In 2016, Lil Uzi and Reese LaFlare got into a heated confrontation at the Day N Night fest, which allegedly led to some punches being thrown. After catching Reese LaFlare's molly-diss, Lil Uzi opted to kill him with kindness, writing back "I'm sorry for punching you in the face hope ya rap career takes off have a wonderful 2018."
Whether Uzi's response is passive aggressive or sincere is hard to tell. It should be noted that around the same time, Uzi fired off a tweet calling Don Cannon "a real one," while concluding with "fuck the rest of them n***s." Perhaps the love is not quite as strong as we might have thought; it's hard not to place DJ Drama in the "rest of them" camp.
