Lil Skies is one of the most promising young artists out right now. After making some noise in the underground, he made his formal introduction to the passes with the release of Life Of A Dark Rose. The project cracked into the top 10 of Billboard 200 and two singles off the project charting on Billboard's Hot 100. As he bubbles up in the music industry, he joins us for the latest episode of "On The Come Up" where he speaks on his influences, his dad being a rapper, "Red Roses" and more.
Lil Skies' success in the rap game can largely be credited to his father. His dad is a rapper as well who brought Skies in the booth at four years old to record an intro for his mixtape. His father, who raps under Dark Skies, was also supportive of his son's career path which clearly worked out for him.
During our latest episode of "On The Come Up," he also talks on Lil Wayne being his favorite rapper (and also how his dad may have been influenced by Wayne to dabble in rock music), working at McDonald's to pay for studio time and much more.
