Lil Debbie will be alright. The California rapper and "White Girl Mob" alumni has been enjoying a recent run, culminating in the release of her new tape In My Own Lane. Featuring a concise ten tracks, Debbie opts to tackle the bulk of the project herself, with baby-heavy appearances from Bali Baby and Bricc Baby, leaving us to wonder where the Baby feature went. Either way, Debbie seems to have found a style she can vibe with, and takes to the production with a refined sense of confidence.
Songs like "Loaded" find her on her braggadocious tip, sliding over the metallic bounce with some fightin' words to lesser opponents. Generally, In My Own Lane seems to favor the trap aesthetic, and those looking to lose themselves in 808s and up-tempo hi-hats will have little qualms with the production. As for Debbie, she definitely holds it down, and longtime fans will surely find something to appreciate.
