LightSkinKeisha is most recognized for the Atlanta native’s comical videos on Instagram, credited with being one of the first to get the ball rolling on that “For The D-ck” pandemic that took over the Internet some time ago. Keisha’s slick tongue and quick wits have translated into some serious skills in the booth, and now she’s leveraged her success to launch a career in hip-hop. Now, the emcee returns with a new clip for her latest “Treadmill” track. The cut, crafted with a summer turn up in mind, comes equipped with a dynamic video, featuring body positivity and even a hilarious cameo from comedian DC Young Fly.
“The inspiration for the song was to motivate women to get in the gym and have fun while being there,” LightSkinKeisha tells Fader of the new clip. “Also, it's inspiration to run it up, whether it be a bag or a damn treadmill. I just want girls to accomplish their body goals and feel good while trying to get it right."
“Treadmill” precedes Keisha’s forthcoming debut Honey Period project, an effort the upstart says will be full of “energy and nothing but some good jams!”
“I’m full of life, and honey, that’s what I’m ‘bout to give y’all on my first project.,” she says. “Expect nothing but the best. I’m new to the game, and I’m about to bring the fun into it — but the Atlanta way! I’m the Queen of Atlanta and I’m about to represent for all my girls from Atlanta. I can’t wait ’til y’all hear it!"
