Jussie Smollett may have been dropped from all charges surrounding his alleged staged homophobic and racial attack, but it doesn't mean the whole world thinks he's innocent. It's for that reason that his brother Jojo penned an open letter for BET, asking people What If Jussie Is Telling The Truth?
It seems as though the same question is being asked by staff over at Empire, the Fox series Jussie has been a part of from the jump and was very much a part of when the attack took place. The show's creator, Lee Daniels, was recently asked by TMZ whether Jussie would join the upcoming season or if he'll be cut from the show entirely. "That's the conversation that we're having right now," Lee said. When asked how he handles all the mixed emotions that are going on, Lee said he just prays and leaves the judging up to the God and the Judge in the courtroom.
As for season seven of Empire, there's been no green light on whether it will actually arrive but we assume it will be considering the early debate on casting.
"I am simply hoping there are some conscious-minded people out there who, instead of carelessly victim blaming and shaming, want to loudly ask the simple question: “What if Jussie is telling the truth?” Jussie's brother concluded his letter, read more here.
