LeBron James has been known to be pretty vocal about the music he's enjoying at any given time. On Friday, it was The Weeknd's My Dear Melancholy, EP that piqued his interest.
"The Weeknd always in his bag!" LeBron captioned a video of himself solemnly singing along to "Try Me," before praising what many fans have deemed as a return to the singer's roots. "He back in his "dark side" mood on this project which i Love!!!!" he wrote, comparing the project to Abel's 2011 debut. "House of balloons type vibes." After de dedicated a few more posts to his run-through, he captioned one video "Zoned out to Abel." Watch the clips above.
My Dear Melancholy was released without warning on Friday. It features two collaborations with French electronic artist Gesaffelstein, who worked with Kanye West on Yeezus. Also among the credited writers are Frank Dukes, Nicolas Jaar and Daft Punk. James is not the first celebrity to compare the project to The Weeknd's early material. A few weeks back, Travis Scott tweeted “Abel new album is scray. It’s like when I first heard him for the first time. Fuckkkkkk !!!!”
