Brandon Phillips says the JBA still owes him some checks and won't return his calls.

The inaugural season of LaVar Ball's Junior Basketball Association concluded last weekend with a championship game at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, California, won by LiAngelo and LaMelo Ball's Los Angeles Ballers.

LiAngelo, who was named MVP after the 132-121 victory, joined the team midway through the season, which resulted in 19-year old Brandon Phillips being cut from the roster. Now, Phillips is saying that the JBA only paid him one-third of what he was promised.

According to Cycle Media's Thomas Duffy, Phillips says he is still owed two more checks, but nobody is returning his calls. Additionally, Phillips claims he was forced to pay for his own bags on every flight, so he saved nothing during his brief tenure in the JBA.

He later tweeted that he can provide screenshots to back up his claims.

"Never said anything about Lavar ball, he wasn’t traveling with us. The league has been great to a lot of kids. But in my case not so much and i don’t know what players you’ve talked to but i can provide screenshots of players on my team who also got cut backing up my statements."

Players in the JBA reportedly receive a base salary of $3,000 per month and a 60 percent return on their jersey sales. As Duffy notes, Phillips essentially gave up his college eligibility for approximately $1,000.
