Fifth Harmony singer Lauren Jauregui has spoken on her intentions to pursue a solo career, just a short time after the announcement that the popular girl group would be going on an indefinite hiatus

Sitting down for an interview with Playboy magazine, Jauregui opened up about her experiences in Fifth Harmony, and what she aims to accomplish in the future.

Fifth Harmony was originally established in 2012, after each of the group's members auditioned individually for the singing reality show X Factor USA. Having failed to make it through their auditions, the girls were placed together as a band, and from there their popularity took off.

However, the experience of being a teenager and being thrust into the spotlight so suddenly takes quite an effect on a person.

“We tried our best to be ourselves, [but] we were also adolescents," said Jauregui, "so you have to think about who you were at that age and being thrown in front of cameras.”

Now that Fifth Harmony has dissolved, Jauregui will be taking the time to discover who she is as a solo artist.

“Right now, I’m just exploring myself and getting in touch with myself creatively,” Jauregui says, adding that “To be real, I don’t want to give myself boundaries.”

She also expresses her disgust with President Donald Trump, and expresses her desire to insert her political militancy into her music.

“I believe that art is the core of what starts revolutions,” says Jauregui.

As to what will become of Jauregui and the rest of the Fifth Harmony girls, we'll have to wait and see. In the meantime, you can check out the full interview in the link above, or check out some of her photo shoot with the magazine down below.
