During a recent episode of Hoop Collective, Brian Windhorst made certain he chose his words carefully in describing Kyrie Irving's preferences going into NBA free agency. According to noted insider, Kyrie Irving might be yearning for a reunion with LeBron James, so much as the current Celtic player is reportedly putting out feelers, and/or spoken to "people of interest" with regards to potentially signing with the Lakers.
"As time passes here, I would’ve said that this is impossible for many months. But as time passes here and as the possibility exists that Jason Kidd could be hired as the Lakers coach, I think the possibility of Kyrie and LeBron reuniting—that door, which was deadbolted, has been un-deadbolted and has now been cracked open," he said on-air. "It might even be opening more by the day. And I say that just because I think it’s on Kyrie’s radar, it’s on Kyrie’s board. He has had discussions with people about playing for the Lakers."
Take this report with a grain of salt. A reunion with LeBron James would be damaging to Kyrie's brand and legacy, that is if he's in any way concerned with those lingering factors. Even though I personally think it's not in their best interest to do so, the Boston Celtics have given Kyrie and the press, they want to sign him to a multiyear contract this offseason.
