Kranium first song entry of 2019 is indeed a big one. "Just The Style" may have dropped yesterday via the singer's YouTube channel, but at the stroke of midnight, it became available on a Global scale, through every streaming platform imaginable. What makes the song entry so impressive, is not only the marked statement he makes in holding off this long but the coup he managed by securing Alkaline's services all throughout the song.
As of 2019, Alkaline remains one of the leading figures in the Dancehall scene, even though many of his fans reckon his musical output in 2018 was somewhat monotonous. To his defense, songs like "Yardie Fiesta" and "Juggernaut" still pushed the fledgling star up the YouTube ranks, insomuch as Dancehall artists figure in the general conversation.
Kranium, on the other hand, is one of the few Dancehall artists to occupy a rare "dual currency" in America, especially in part of the country touched by the Jamaican diaspora. His latest collaboration with Alkaline fits the bill in a suitable fashion. Just as "Just The Style" was going to press, Alkaline released a duet record with Black Shadow entitled "Eva High," which you can stream right here. Hit us with your thoughts on both songs, if you're so inclined.
