Kodak Black's legal issues have been haunting him throughout his professional career. He's gone on to receive platinum certifications and plaques, however, that hasn't stopped him from getting in trouble with the law. At the top of the year, the rapper was arrested alongside several of his friends after police raided his house. The feds ended up finding guns and drugs after the rapper was flexing both on Instagram live. The rapper was initially facing 12 years behind bars for violating his probation. However, it looks like he's got off pretty light.
TheBlast reports that Kodak Black has been sentenced to one year in county jail after taking a plea deal with the prosecutors in his guns and weed case. The obtained court documents say that Kodak pleaded guilty to two probation violation counts of driving with a suspended license and "associating with people committing crimes." The other charges pertaining to violating probation were dropped including child neglect.
The rapper has already served 90 days of the 364 that he was sentenced to so there's a good chance that Kodak could be out by October on good behavior. In addition, he won't be on probation when he comes out.
Kodak's lawyer, Bradford Cohen, confirmed that the "Roll In Peace" rapper's case is resolved on Twitter earlier today.
"Just completely resolved @KodakBlack1k case. The State and Judge were professional and fair. I am happy not just for a client, but for a friend. There are great things instore for him, and he is glad to have this behind him." He said.
