Wait, what?

Kodak Black's been locked up for the past few months and recently received a one year sentence for probation violations during his gun and drug case. On good behavior, his legal team is hopeful that he'll be out of jail by the fall. He's already been working towards making a major changes in his life including getting his GED. However, it looks like he's making some other big changes.

Kodak Black seems to be trying to start off on a clean slate and has reportedly made a major change to his legal name, TMZ reports. Apparently, Kodak Black has changed his legal name to Bill K. Kapri. His birth name is Dieuson Octave. The rapper successfully requested a name change from a Florida judge. Kodak's attorney, Bradford Cohen, said that the rapper wanted a "fresh start" in the midst of everything that's around him. However, his rap name won't change and he'll be going by Kodak Black upon his release from jail.

In addition to the name change, the child services investigation on him has been dropped, his lawyer said. This also stems from the house raid that got him arrested in the winter. The rapper was arrested with his child in the house while the police found marijuana and ammunition. He's also taking parenting classes in jail and clearly, he's pushing towards a better future for himself and his family.
