It appears that Kanye West's recent infatuation with Donald Trump may end up doing some good in the long run, as Kim Kardashian has reportedly linked up with Trump's daughter Ivanka, as well as her husband Jared Kushner, in order to obtain freedom for Alice Marie Johnson.
Johnson is a 62-year-old grandmother who has been serving life in prison without parole for a non-violent drug offense, her first ever criminal offense. Kim has been trying to help Johnson since at least last November, and it seems she's going all the way to the top to try accomplish her goals.
According to TMZ, Kim has been working heavily with Ivanka and Kushner on securing Johnson's freedom, alongside her personal attorney, Shawn Holley. Johnson's file is now reportedly on it's way to Trump's desk for review, so maybe it's possible that this whole Kanye stunt is a long con to gain Trump's approval and help his wife get justice for a woman who would otherwise have no hope of ever being released.
TMZ obtained a letter from Johnson after Kim originally started working on the case, in which she expresses her gratitude for Kim's help. She wrote, "Ms. Kardashian you are literally helping to save my life and restore me to my family. I was drowning and you have thrown be a life jacket and given me hope that this Life jacket I'm serving may one day be taken off."
Hopefully, Trump approves the pardon and Alice Marie Johnson will be allowed to see her family again.
