Kim Kardashian met with Donald Trump back in May of 2018 and her efforts on clemency and prison reform have proven to be worth it. First Alice Marie Johnson was freed from prison followed by Matthew Charles and then Kim was praised by CNN's Van Jones for putting "her celebrity [status] on the line for people she didn't even know."
Kim's work has now helped Cyntoia Brown who has been granted clemency and is set to be released on parole supervision on August 7th. Cyntonia was sent to prison for 15 years after she killed the man who was allegedly using her as a sex slave when she was just 16.
"I am thankful for all the support, prayers, and encouragement I have received," Cyntonia said in an official statement via TMZ. "I am thankful to my lawyers and their staffs, and all the others who, for the last decade have freely given their time and expertise to help me get to this day. I love all of you and will be forever grateful. With God's help, I am committed to live the rest of my life helping others, especially young people. My hope is to help other young girls avoid ending up where I have been."
