The Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back film is now available for streaming on Netflix, and its arrival coincided with news for fans of the film when star Kevin Smith took to Twitter to reveal that he will be hard at work on a reboot of the classic flick.
The picture that was uploaded to social media features producer Jordan Monsanto and was snapped by co-star Jay Mewes.
"Spent the first day of 2019 having a #JayAndSilentBobReboot pre-pre-production meeting at our holiday-roomy @WeWork office," wrote SMith. "@JayMewes took this pic of me and @JordanMonsanto to both mark the moment and to document that we were the only dopes in Hollywood working on the holiday."
The new reboot is slated to be a satirical take on the recent reboots trend as it will chronicle the Jay and Silent Bob duo as they try to prevent a reboot film from taking place. According to IMDB, the pair will “return to Hollywood to stop a reboot of 'Bluntman and Chronic' movie from getting made.”
The reboot was originally teased in 2017, but things seemed to go on hold when Smith suffered a heart attack in 2018. During the New Year's Eve episode of his podcast, Smith also revealed that production would begin in February in Lousiana.
