Saturday night [September 16], Kevin Hart took to his Instagram to make a public apology directed to his wife and kids for all to see. While the message remained rather mysterious as far as what he was referring to, TMZ reports that this apology was a tactic in getting in front of a scandal that implicated Hart in cheating on his pregnant wife, Eniko Parrish.
Sources tell the publication that Hart was the subject of an extortion attempt by a woman who has footage of Kevin engaging in “sexually suggestive” activities with her. It has been made clear that it is not a sex tape, but a video that appears to show a “prelude to sex.”
"Someone tried to set Kevin up in a failed extortion attempt," a rep for Kevin Hart told TMZ. "As law enforcement is involved, we cannot comment further as it could affect the investigation."
The video in question is allegedly composed of three seperate clips. The first of which shows Kevin and a woman in a club, while the second shoots to a shot of a bed. You cannot see who is in the bed, but you can hear creaking that sounds like two people engaging in intercourse. The third clip shows two indivudals walking around a room, with one of the individuals resembling Hart.
"I’m at a place in my life where I feel like I have a target on my back and because of that, I should make smart decisions, and recently I didn’t,” Hart revealed in the video. “I’m not perfect, I’m not gonna sit up here and say that I am or claim to be in any way, shape or form. I made a bad error in judgement putting myself in an environment where only bad things can happen, and they did. In doing that, I know I’m gonna hurt the people closest to me who I’ve talked to and apologized to, being my wife and my kids."
This is not the first time Hart has been the subject of cheating rumors or scandals with a photo captured by papparazzi back in July allegedly showing Hart getting cozy with a woman in a car.
His wife Eniko also raised eyebrows after penning an Instagram caption that indicated that she and Kevin had been together for eight years, causing many to allude to the fact that the comedian and actor had only been divorced from his ex-wife Torrei Hart for six years.
"It’s a shitty moment when you know you’re wrong and there’s no excuses for your wrong behavior," Kevin added at the end of his apology. "At the end of the day, I just simply gotta do better, but I’m not going to also allow a person to have financial gain off of my mistakes, and in this particular situation, that’s what was attempted. I said I’d rather ‘fess up to my mistakes.”
