Looks like we're going to have to wait a bit before we get a new Kevin Gates project.

Kevin Gates spent a good chunk of the past few years behind bars, unfortunately, but fans were ecstatic to find out the rapper would be released from prison at the top of the year. The speculations were true and the rapper was released but it's been nearly two months since his release and we haven't received any new music whatsoever. However, this might be all part of his bigger plan.

Kevin Gates hit Twitter today to reveal that we might not receive any new music from him for a minute but he's been putting a lot of work. The rapper revealed that he won't be dropping a new project until he has a huge bank of music stashed.

"Fajr prayer was 5:51AM so by 6AM both feet should a been on the floor Sir - you know what I’m doing Sir - All Well #imHim," he wrote."Let me put like 2 or 3 hunnid songs together first - then I’m a throw somn out-there,but for now we work #imHim," he wrote on Twitter.

Considering his choice of hashtags, it's very likely his next album is called I'm Him. Following his release from prison, his first Instagram post was a picture that simply read "I'm Him" in white writing in front of a black background.

Aside from new music, the rapper recently announced a handful of shows he'll be embarking on this summer. Expect to catch Kevin Gates at JMBLYA in Dallas and Austin as well as the Common Ground Festival in Lansing, Michigan on July 8th.
