Kevin Gates is currently working towards the release of his next project Luca Brasi 3, the continuation of a series that dates back five years. From the sounds of his latest track "Great Man," we may be getting vintage Gates too as this one sounds like a return to his older material.
After he was released from prison at the beginning of the year, Gates was restricted from leaving the state of Illinois, releasing Chained to the City as a direct response to his travel ban. Aside from his appearances on YoungBoy Never Broke Again's 4Respect, he hasn't dropped a full-length this year and we're definitely excited for it.
Officially dropping on September 27, Luca Brasi 3 will feature both "Great Man" and "Money Long," which both popped up today. "Great Man" has Gates in his feelings, thinking about his heartbreak although he's "still affiliated with the gang." The Louisiana rapper is equal parts melodic and reflective on his new song and while he may see a heartbroken man in the mirror, he always sees a human that has accomplished a lot and that he would consider as "great."
