After earning the highest Hot 100 debut for a rap song since 2010 with "HUMBLE.", Kendrick Lamar is looking to do big first week numbers with his new album DAMN. According to projections from Hits Daily Double, Lamar's fourth LP, which arrived Friday, April 14th, is looking at around 450,000 in sales its opening week.
If the numbers are accurate, Kendrick will surpass the first week sales of his 2015 album To Pimp A Butterfly, which hit 324,000 units first week. It is expected to be his third album to debut at number one on the charts, following his b-sides collection untitled. unmastered which moved 178,000 equivalent album units (good kid, m.A.A.d. city hit number 2 with 241,000 units sold).

UPDATE: Hits Daily Double has updated their projections. They now expect Kendrick to move 460-485,000 album equivalent units with 275-300,000 of those being earned traditionally.
