Consistently hooking up one of the better hip-hop festivals of the year, Hot 97 regularly comes through with Summer Jam as the performers this year are damn-near salivating. From top to bottom, the lineup for both the Stadium and Festival stages is stacked. Periodically updating their Instagram throughout the day with the slated guests, Hot 97 have kept fans at bay as speculation rises pertaining to who will be performing. Finally, it looks as though the final lineup has been completed and it's looking like one of the better Summer Jam lists of past years.
The headliners are insane with newly-crowned Pulitzer Prize winner Kendrick Lamar leading the way with Lil Wayne, who will be performing classics from his "Tha Carter" series. Still keeping an element of surprise, Swizz Beats has been announced "with friends" and, with him being so established in the industry, his guests could be literally anybody. Rounding out the Stadium stage are Tory Lanez, Remy Ma, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, A$AP Ferg, Rich the Kid, Megan Ryte and Hood Celebrityy. The Festival stage will garner a smaller affair but it completes the Rich Forever takeover of this year with both Famous Dex and Jay Critch performing, as well as Don Q and Snoopy Dinero.
Summer Jam is always bound to be a great show and, organized by New York hip-hop hub Hot 97, an unsigned rapper will also get the chance to perform on the Festival stage this year. The "Who's Next" initiative will be open to submissions on their app, giving contenders a chance to make their name at one of the East Coast's mainstay festivals. Tickets are set to go on sale this Friday for the June 10 show.
