This Summer's NBA free agency cycle will prove to be an interesting one as a plethora of stars will become free agents. They will be tasked with choosing which team they want to sign to next and all NBA fans will be glued to their phones, anxiously awaiting updates on whether or not their team got themselves a franchise player. One of the big name free agents this summer is Kemba Walker of the Charlotte Hornets. The Hornets just barely missed the playoffs this season which isn't good enough considering Walker says he wants to be a contender.
"I want to win; I want to win," Walker told the Charlotte Observer. "That's something that I'm going to have to really sit down and think about with my family, with my agent, with the people closest to me in my life that will help me make that decision."
Walker explained that he wants the higher-ups in Charlotte to provide him with some talent that can help the team become a legit contender. Until the happens, Walker won't be committing to anyone.
"I'm not sure," Walker told NBA.com when asked if he'd be back with the Hornets. "I have a long time to even start thinking about that stuff. Me and my agent, my family, we will discuss that stuff when the time is right."
This season, the Hornets finished 9th in the Eastern Conference with a record of 39-43.
