Last week it was announced that Nickelodeon's All That was coming back to the tube and the reboot would be executively produced by the leading star, Kenan Thompson. “It means everything to me,” Kenan, who now works for SNL, said of the reboot. “It was my first job that I ever had. It gave me an opportunity.”
Page Six now reports that one of the show's other favorite acts, Kel Mitchell, will also be joining for a spot on the project. “Whoever’s down to come do it, we would love to have them in my opinion,” Kenan explained to the publication. “I know Kel [Mitchell’s] coming back, and I remember working close [sic] with Josh Server as well. I think all the old cast members should come support the new cast members. That’s just how it should go.”
Kenan & Kel got their own show based on the popularity of their sketch series on All That. Their solo show ran from 1996-2000 while All That ran from 1994-2005.
"We think there’s a great opportunity to find the next pool of stars,” president of Nickelodeon, Brian Robbins, previously stated. “We want to bring the show back in a real fun way. This summer, we are going to bring back a lot of the original cast and the cast through the years, and let them introduce the new cast of ‘All That’ to the world.”
